Hmmm, if Buy.com is jumping back on the TDK Rebate bandwagon, I wonder if anyone else will be.

I just read the rebate form carefully, it doesn't say anything about where you have to buy it. So, can I just buy it at Best Buy for $179 (if you count the $20 gift card) and send in the UPC and rebate form from Best Buy and get the $50 back, $129 for that burner would be great!

BTW, anyone know what time Best Buy opens on Sundays in the Atlanta, GA area?

Can this 50 dollar rebate be used if you buy the burner from Necx direct? It costs 228.95 there,add something to go over 229 and use $25 off coupon. Final cost for me with shipping was $211 including shipping.If the $50 rebate will work with this purchase that would make it $161 shipped after rebate.Thanks.

There is no coupon to try, the only one was a business coupon and expired January 31.

Staples is the only place that both price matches AND allows you to add coupons at the same time. They do not have this item.

I have been thinking about getting this drive. One thing that has been holding me back. I read review of the new 16x drive and it says the TDK does not support sub-channel data. Is this a big deal??

If you go here you will find information reagrding the subject on the 12x variety. I didn't see anything about the 16x yet, but you should be able to dig around and find what you need.

Well, I've replied this in another thread.. I would suggest you guys call TDK BEFORE YOU BUY FROM BUY.COM.. I call TDK and they said :THEY WILL NOT HONOR the rebate link BUY.COM provided!!

I believe Buy.com did not honor the rebate previously... then, after the whole fiasco over TDK putting down the rebate offer and &quot;changing&quot; the wording of the rebate, they allowed people who bought the CD writer before a certain date to use the rebate... now it seems the rebate officially works, as it IS linked from the buy.com website.

Yes, I knew this. I called TDK right after the link in Buy.com reappeared!! TDK said: only the rebate form from TDK or stores (usually B&amp;M) like bestbuy, circuit city, compusa.... WILL BE HONOR.. The rebate form from NETBATE is not their official rebate form... Man, I wish this rebate form works, but... well... I still think you should call TDK before you think you can get the rebate from TDK.
