I just bought the Velo 161040 and I'm still regretting the decision. No subchannel data reading, slow DAE, and my system seems to have rejected it: since installing it my system locks up for no apparent reason (Both Win2k and WinME). The newest firmware just came out; maybe it will solve all these problems. Comes with Nero, though. Luckily Costco has an awesome return policy. I'm comparing it with the excelling success I've had with all my HP CDRs.

I just bought the Yamaha 2100EZ 16X with their "burn proof" for $214.88 shipped from Jazz Tech
Love it, burns the free (after MIR) 200 PP CDR's from OM, 703MB in just under 5min with Nero!
