TD has a quad-core AMD system for builders for $200.

Note that it is actually $213 and you get back a $13 rebate VISA card.

The mobo has a VGA out, so it is a complete system less heatsink/fan. This is another $15 on TD.

So the total is 213 + 15. Plus ~$10 for shipping and ~$20 if you are in a Systemax (tax) state. and - $13 after 8 weeks in the form of a rebate.

MrRebates offers 5% cash back at TD, but I could find no further coupons that apply to this order.

Still, the price is pretty good!

EDIT: the deal appears to end 11/24/10.

EDIT: up to $210 total, but still not a bad deal.

EDIT: down to $200, ends 11/29.

Wow. That's a HOT deal. A complete quad core setup. I like it a lot.

If only they had deals like this when I built my Intel setup.

Edit: Add in a cheap CPU cooler and a GT240/R5550 and this computer can game.

I only worry about the PSU.

You may also want to consider another $30 to $60 for a replacement power supply, as I wouldn't trust a generic POS like what's in that case to power a system for long without killing something (as it commits electronic suicide).

Also, if you're going to go with Windows, you might as well count another $100 for the operating system. :\

Meh through Ubuntu on it and sell it on Craigslist.
