I finally got fed up with TCA rebates a while back after I hadn't gotten my rebate for a CDRW that I had purchased and long ago sent in a rebate request. I sent numerous emails to TCA concerning my rebate, tried calling them, tried harassing them, but couldn't get anywhere. I finally ended up contacting the manufacturer of the CDRW that I had bought and sent them an email explaining my displeasure with their company and TCA. Three weeks later I FINALLY got my rebate but not a single response from either party. After doing some digging here's a little something from the local BBB (Better Business Bureau) in the New York area. I hope other's find this useful and maybe could use it as some ammo against this company. Places like this shouldn't be allowed to continue business.

I asked CompUSA why they were having TCA Fulfillment process their TEAC CD writer rebates, and they said it was because they didn't like the way that Parago, in Coppell, Texas, had been handling them. But I think the real reason is the confusion over the PNY 64M memory $30 rebate from CompUSA's President's Day sale.

I'm lucky to have SQUEEZED a rebate out of those bastards. All I can recommend is to keep calling & emailing... Squeaky wheel gets the grease I guess.

Dont believe a single word of these bastards - "no record of claim", "claim is being processed", "check will be mailed tommorrow", "check is in the mail".... ALL BULLSH!T - designed to keep you hanging until you simply give up.

Upon advertising any savings after rebate, these stores become, in part, legally responsible towards your payment, and eventual receipt of the terms "as advertised." CompUSA finally seems to understand this, but some of the others have never adequately been held culpable - Circuit City, Office Max, Staples.

Again, that is the reason there is a FTC, BBB, consumer advocate and attorney generals' office, to document and investigate bad business practices. Just make sure you save copious documentation, including, and most especially, the advertisement stating the rebate and savings, they are binding.
