I want to upgrade my processer to a 1800+ or perhaps a 2000+. From what i can tell from the Abit website the max 0.13u cpu that will be accepted in my KG7 is a 2000+... will a 2400+ work??? I didn't think so but with their slack website update habbits who knows.. :D

Should i be trying to find an A or B version 1800-2000+? I understand the B's did come out in an overlapping clockspeed to the older A's. Anybody that can clear this up bye crikey is a champ. cheers.

i believe it has to do with the multiplier being at 15 x 133 for the 2400+ which is reason they state it wont work. i personnelly cant say it will or wont since i havent tried it myself.

i would go with either a 1700+ B or 1800+ B or a possible 2100+ B core chip. that is if the one that is listed at newegg is a B core . some confusion on the 2100+ at this time

the 1700+ B cores are showing up at newegg from what i have been reading. havent seen any 1800+ B core yet. one store has listed a 1900+ thoroughbred but they wouldnt send me any additional information on that one

And to make it even more confusing, the top multiplier on my 9M bios just says 'above 13'......but how far above?!?

the only ways to find out for sure is:
1.find someone else wtih same combo and ask them
2.buy it and find out, if it doesnt work out sell it ;)

I just popped a 1700B in my KG7 after a bios flash to kg7ct and set the multiplier to 13 x 133 and it works fine so far but I get 'unknown chip type' at 1.67G in System Properties (general).
When I move the multiplier to 'above 13' I get 1.47G versus the 1.67G at 13.

above 13 seems to run at default, but it is used as a workaround for CPUs with a higher than 13 multiplier by default. makes no sense, but that's how it seems to work. hrm.
