I am planning to upgrade my 1.3 Tbird to 1700XP. Can I find significant difference?
1700 XP is compatible with A7M266 Mobo?

Depends.
1 - Are you going to overclock? Newer XP's should hit 1.7GHz or higher
2 - Do you do media encoding? These apps benefit the most from the XP's SSE instructions.
3 - Is heat a problem? The XP's run about 20-25% cooler at the same speed.

PS your board will be happy with the XP if your BIOS is v. 1005 or higher.

1. I am not a pro. If i get instruction on how to do it I may do it
2. Yes I do Video burning.
3. I didn't see heat problem. But looking for more speed.

First, a correction -- that 20-25% figure for power should be 15-20%. Anyway, what app do you use for "video burning"? Not sure if the SSE instructions will help you or not, but my guess is yes. LMK
