TBird and Rain - it gets HOTTER!

TBird 1ghz @ 1130 [8.5x133 taisol big cooler and arctic silver]
idles at about 30-33c [according to the VIA utility that comes with the kt7a] does prime95 about 44c

Thought I would try out rain...WELL... when at idle the temp goes up dramatically [40c odd] and when at full stretch it doesn't affect the temp!

Any ideas?
AND what is 'safe' [ish] max temp to run Durons and Tbirds at?

As long as you're under 50c you're fine...

Is it by any chance Rain 1.0 you're running?

I remember some feature of rain where if enabled would tie up the processor when it wasn't being used, this is for people with peltier systems who don't want their systems to turn to water fountains.......

No its Rain 2.0 - and I AM confused !

However I am not too worried - I was just trying to keep things as cool as possible

Bit worried about the Duron @ 50c
