Hi, I was wondering if ppl can post what steppings they have gotten when ordering the 1.33 ghz 266 fsb from newegg? (i'm about to order one and i would like to know what ppl have gotten to see if i should take the chance and get it from there)

btw, how come the newer/faster cpus aren't multiplier locked, but the older ones are? (1 ghz) why did amd do that?

Thx

So people with boards that don't support 133 fsb can run them.

Some of the newer ones are still locked, especially those that are clocked at around 1GHz or lower. Many Durons are still locked as well.

If I get an OEM 1.2 or 1.33 fromNewegg, which HSF is adequate, even for overclocking? For the 1.33 Newegg recommends a Cooler Master HSF that can support 1.33GHZ, but it's only $8. Since the processor's multiplier is unlocked, if I get an IWILL KK266 or an ASUS A7V133, I can start experimenting with overclocking without performing any tricks to the processor, correct?

Thanks. What's a good (and cheap ~$50) mid-tower case with an AMD-approved PS? Should I install additional fans?

dont get a super cheap case if your going to overclock at high speeds... make sure it has good airflow and room for a good amount of fans.
