She's the voice of pre and barely pubescent teenage girls. If she was truly the voice of this generation, I would have already killed myself. Voices of a generation make music that matters. Not shitty songs about ex boyfriends and going to the prom. Her music has absolutely zero substance, she's about = to Justin Beiber in all honesty. She has NEVER made an important song, and probably never will. Being a bubble gum pop singer doesn't qualify you to be the voice for shit. Hell, Beyonce's songs have more meaning and I'd also kill myself if she was the voice of a generation.

Unfortunately it's spreading. I'm on a college campus, and a few weeks ago I was walking home on a Friday night and passed some white guy with an acoustic guitar playing that "baby just say yes love story prince princess disney commercial jerk-off" song for a bunch of women, and some guys who were trying (failing) to look cool. Got to give him credit, he had about 8 good looking women practically wrapped around his cock at that point.

And the really sad thing is, the women probably think his playing the song was genuine.
 
As for the song in OP: B.o.B. is quality, here he's kinda bland but listenable. The Taylor Swift lines are the cliche stuff she always sings about. So girly it makes my skin crawl.

But then again I'm one of those rare people who actually listen to lyrics. I've actually converted my GF away from a song or two once I pointed out the lyrics she had to date not payed attention to.

I wouldn't say it's been a long time since her last new material. The video for Safe & Sound was released in mid February ("premiered on February 13, 2012 at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV." according to Wikipedia). That's just 4 months ago. Her last studio album was only a year and a half ago.

Everything you said is wrong. No one even talked about Lennon and Gaye. The sooner you face the fact that she is the voice of this generation, the better off you'll be.
