TaxCut Premium, Free download

Several things to consider:

  • This download does not include the software to do state returns. They charge $24.95 for that. However, if you live in a state that doesn't have an income tax, it doesn't matter for you.
  • Watch out for the bogus "download protection" charge that they automatically add to your cart. It's underhanded and dishonest.
  • Feel free to put in whatever you want in the contact information. They're only collecting it so they can bug you with marketing stuff later.

easy enuf to get around i thought, but the dl "protection" did make me laugh

Hmm...no state returns =(
Should I get this or just go buy turbotax with both at costco? I don't think there's much of a difference in price once you pay the $24.95 lol

I thank you and my return thanks you!
We had TaxCut but not the premium.
You also get DeductionPro free.

TaxCut is Free'er? 😛

Ive tried both, and to be honest they seem the same.

And to those that asked, I know of no free state offer right now but I will keep an eye out for it and let you know what I find.

I've seen state offers for $7.95 (with FREE federal). They are all linked from irs.gov. I think there are one or two $7.95 companies. I believe TAXACT is one. I'm going to check again this weekend when I do mine

Thanks for that link. I registered last night and went through their process a few times but the download never started!

Thanks OP.

DL'ed in a few minutes & installed. I usually do my own & buy one on sale to double check myself, so this is a nice bonus.
