This should be at any retailer. Valid only Jan 5-19. Microsoft Money Standard is free as is with purchase of TaxCut, but from Jan. 5-19 you can also get TaxCut for free after rebate!

By the way, add on a $10 off $40 coupon at Staples and its an even better deal.

oh hehe.......i work at staples (no comments, please) i saw a few 10/40 coupons......i can scan one but i got no way of hosting it

Anyone notice this? It says Microsoft Money Standard Edition 2002 CD w/$10 Upgrader Rebate and $10 Upgrader Mail-in rebate on the box. Offer expires 8/15/2002. . Nothing else though. Anyone have more details?

MS Money 2002 @ staples

I bought this combo from OfficeMax last week and I have to say that the rebate process was one of the more annoying that i've run into. When I bought both boxes the OfficeMax CSR told me that all the rebate forms were in the boxes.

When I opened the boxes the $30 rebate for Microsoft Money 2002 was there but the $15 rebate for Taxcut was nowhere to be found. I checked the Officemax online site and couldn't find it and finally made a trek back to the OfficeMax store.

An OM CSR then spent about 10 minutes going through all the various forms in my boxes and finally agreed with me that there was no $15 rebate.

Then he spoke with the store manager who knew immediately what we were looking for and ran back into his office for the right form. (It was his only copy so he had a 100 copies made and gave me one.)

Even after I got the form, the rebates themselves were a pain to figure out (with the box tops and UPCs required). Ugh.

Sure they were free but I had to *earn* it. 🙂

If you are in need of office supplies, there is a $25 off $100 coupon for OfficeMax at dealcatcher.com that may be better for you than a 10 off 40 at Staples.

I also found that dealing with the rebates was a huge PITA at OM, but here's how they work:

1) The Money2002 rebate form is in the TaxCut box
2) The Tax cut rebate should be in the OM stores (I couldn't find it on the OM site). I think you can download the TaxCut rebate form from Staples (and I checked - the rebate is not specific to any store)

This deal ends today, so hurry!

Wow! If I knew about the Taxcut rebate form being available at Staples I could have saved myself a trip to OM and the extended conversation with the CSR and manager!

Hopefully your tip will save other from this same hassle. 🙂
