In other words, I still need to get a new SATA DVD burner cause the noob wasn't thinking about a board being EIDE friendly or not.

OH good news!
I just discovered the iggy function, but for the small hand full of people who were really trying to help me thank you and the rest, bye bye enjoy the iggy bin!

Give it a rest. Let me show you all the times that people said that you needed a new DVD burner.

LG Black 22X DVD+R DVD-RW $25 shipped
**You will need this because your old one is probably IDE which the newer mainboards no longer carry those ports anymore**,

Also, please check if you have an IDE or SATA dvd drive, if you don't have a SATA drive we will need to spend another $15-$20 bucks on it, and at this price range that can mean a big hit in performance of everything else.

i-2500k+ MSI p67 mobo + 4gb ripjaws X + rosewill 630W PSU + Rosewill case + LG DVD burner - 520.99

LG DVD Burner - Bulk Black SATA Model GH24NS50 - OEM $19 Free ship (You will need this because IDE is no longer supported on new mobos)

Your PSU also has only 1 6-pin connector - this will prevent you from using midrange -high end graphics cards. Together with the need for sata harddrives and a dvd burner - could you stretch your budget a little? It will make the computer LOADS better for gaming if you even have $50 more to spare.

OP: You have now $200 left for a video card, hard drive, and dvd drive (you will need SATA ones). HDD and DVD drives are going to be about $60-$70. That means you have about $130 to spend on a video card.

Bottom line: Just because you didn't take the advice in this thread, does not mean that it is our fault that you ended up with incompatible components.

By noob I meant me.

Awful lot of thin skins among the members here >.>

A quality gaming rig will cost you about 850. Cut some corners, find a sale or two and 750 is doable.

What you did was create a thread that refused to follow the basic stickied guildline to provide info that will allow others to fully help you, refused to accept work-arounds like rebates to stretch the budget and berated users who asked you to do such things.

You have been disagreeable and hard to please. You then make a big deal of ignoring people as if anyone expects you to read any threads other than your own anyways....

Best of luck with the build.

IT LIVES!!

Installing XP Pro 64 bit Edition. . .

Is this a joke?

XP 64 bit is not good, not good. You know in Office Space, at the end, Milton says he wanted no salt, no salt? Please, no mention of XP Pro 64 bit.

Windows 7 x64 is way more better...

Windows XP 64 bit was a joke, it never had ANY support (for hardware) hell just trying to find a wireless card could take weeks of searching...

He's doing this because unlike what he stated in the OP, he doesn't have Win7, and there's simply no budget left for an OS...

Well she's running, and yes I wish I had Win7 already.

MAN!!
I NEVER saw my old PC games like THIS!

Guys it was worth it and WAY overdue!
