Proof:

Let's assume he has a high paying job. From this, it follows that he has an education. If he has an education, he can't seriously be wondering "what kinda trouble will i be in if i defer to pay my taxes till the next president..." This is a contradiction, therefore the premise "he has a high paying job" is not true.

Furthermore, would you really use the phrase "my cpa gave me the forms"?

Just write the IRS a letter explaining that you don't want to fund the war in Iraq, and want to defer paying your taxes until after the 2008 election. They're a pretty understanding bunch of people. I'm sure they'll let you do that as long as you agree to pay interest on what you owe...(while you're sitting in FMITA prison)

How about an alternative proof:

Given the OP does not desire to fund the war, which is about... five years old now, we can postulate that he probably hasn't wanted to pay his taxes for those five years either, especially since the president hasn't changed. If true, after not paying taxes for those years, even at a low paying job, I would surmise his tax bill is easily $8K or more.

5 years of not paying taxes and only owing Uncle Sam $8k means he is living in a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere, in which case Uncle Sam probably counldn't be bothered to even wonder if he has paid up or not.
