Good day,

This is by no means a "technical question" but its technical for me I guess. If someone could take 30 seconds to answer it would be appreciated none the less.

When you disable items on your task bar, do they completely stop running and give you added resources? They are not still running at all? For instance, my Antivirus scan is loaded with all this crap at start up, that seems useful but I'm not sure if I need it - ie webtrap, pop-up trap, virus protection, firewall, etc. They all have their own checks in the start up (MSCONFIG). This may be a stupid question, but if I let them all load up and then click "exit" from the lower right task bar are they still protecting my computer when I'm on? I'm a little confused here. MCaffee never seemed to have all this crap.

And also, when I'm in MSCONFIG, is there a way to even get rid of all the options, never mind taking the checks out of the boxes . . . I tried to delete them and i can't really figure out how.
