Over the weekend I tried playing around with the BoincStats page to manage workunits, and etc.. Somehow I inadvertently switched all my teams somehow. No clue what I did to do so.. Left BoincStats team and rejoined back to anandtech. I was getting frustrated with other projects taking over, and tried to make it so they only use my GPU (Milkyway) and (Collatz). They started uploading CPU workunits to me.

Congratulations to Ken_g6 for his 8,000 milestone.

Welcome back to the TeAm, Bradtech519!

Wile E Coyote failed once again to stop a Road Runner. I've been passed by Petrusbroder.

WTG, Peter!

Amazingly, I haven't done that to myself either... yet. :)

As of just now there are 678 938 WUs left to crunch in SIMAP.
Then there will probably come some 150 000 more WUs as part 10 of 10 of the "Similarities of new sequences from metagenomes"-project we have been crunching since July 1. It will probably be in gthe order of magnitude of 3 million WUs by the end of August!

Sweet deal. I just left for vacation and my desktops going to be crunching only SIMAP with no interference from me for 5 days. From what I've read SIMAP normally doesn't have this many WUs per month correct?

According to the daily production graph on Free-DC, the meta-genomes are worth an extra 2-3K per day on my rigs!

Yes, three to ten days is the normal month.

Yes, this many WUs is rare.

This is the best session in the four years I have been crunching SIMAP! I'm closing in on 300K for the session! My previous high was 180K!

Crunch on!

I just noticed that BoincStats somehow enabled Leiden Classical on all of my computers without my intervention some time ago. I thought my Simap production was rather low, but I've been too busy (and distracted) to figure out why. I turned Leiden off for now so I can get as much as possible out of the remaining Simap work.

Congratulations to irishScott for his 30,000 milestone.

Congratulations to petrusbroder for his 1,300,000 milestone.

Congratulations to OrangeKid for his 40,000 milestone.

The end is near! Batch 10/10 is now being issued! Get them while they're hot!

Will Hare Petrubroder break into the top 100 users?

Will Tortoise Toody ever get there?

I'm on the edge of my seat! (Not with excitement-- I just didn't want to move the stack of math books.)

LoL! Thanks for the stats and ... sit tight! If you slide down the seat the math books will fall down and hit you - and that is hard science!

Still sitting with the maths books? :)

No. I have the books, opened to critical pages, spread over all the flat surfaces of my work area.

I have discovered a simple, forehead-slapping proof of Legendre's Conjecture by using only Andrica's Conjecture.

The proof works the other direction, too. I have a proof of Andrica's Conjecture using only Legendre's conjecture.

Unfortunately, this doesn't prove either one.

I can also show that if a counter-example to either conjecture is found, a counter-example to the other conjecture occurs at the exact same point on the number line.

I'm trying to find out if this lock-step relationship should be published.

Edit: Of course, now I'm trying to prove that the common, counter-example point cannot occur.
