New workunits approx. until end of August
Since today afternoon we are distributing the last series of workunits containing new environmental sequences from CAMERA metagenomes. Probably these will need until the end of August to be calculated, so we will just continue after them with the regular workunits of September.

That's what we like to hear!

My four-year anniversary on SIMAP is July 12 and I am most proud of these milestones because it means I was persistent. (Actually, the comps are persistent. I just set and forget.)

I don't know how many WUs are in these latest batches, so I don't know if I will hit one million this month or next. Anyway, I'm having fun. Hope everyone else is, too!
 
I won't be getting a milestone any time soon (300K more for the next one), but I'm still letting my computers stay connected to SIMAP all of the time to pick up work whenever it is available.
 
I finally decided to check out this project. Seems nice! How's the credit?

It seems like I'm receiving more tasks than usual for this one. After the initial batch, I'm still continuing to get new work.
 
Is there a way to prioritize SIMAP over other BOINC projects when work is available? I want the comp never to idle so if there is no SIMAP I want it to do some rosetta or milkyway@home or something, but move back to SIMAP when work is available. Can I do this?

I have joined the SIMAP, and anandtech team on this project. I should come up as Bradtech519.. I believe it has started one task.. I have a lot of Cosmology projects going also.. You got whatever my phenom 2, and 4890 can muster up.

We are about 3/8 of the way through batch 3/10. There will be plenty of work this month.

Go into your account on SIMAP and under Project Preferences set your resource share to something above the default 100. I have mine at 2500. If everything works as planned this month, I will hit the one million milestone on 12 July, my fourth anniversary at SIMAP.

It isn't yet.
But lets say that September will be the next TAS-month ... after summer (cooler weather, cooler CPUs and GPUs), holidays & vacations (more crunchers can take part) and term start ...
 
I just read the fine print. SIMAP has about 4 million sequences left. And about 1500 fewer hosts this month. This is a great opportunity to improve your points and position and the TeAm's points and position. I four days we should break 9,000,000 credits.

@Petrusbroder: When you said you were adding a few comps, you were not kidding. You are producing 50% of our production. WTG!

This CPU crunching is defiantly a lot easier on my machine. I left it going last night, and today.. BOINC manager says I'm at around 1048.58 done.
