The TAS Mini-Race is comprised of two teams, each with as many fleets as they can get.

The rules are simple:
The winner is the user with the highest production on the winning team.
The Championship Belt can only be won one time.

caferace (we need pictures) won the belt for the inaugural race in June 2007. He was the highest producer on RCP - The Gang of Three when they barely beat Perry Maskell. petrusbroder and Rudy Toody were the other two parts of the Gang.

We need two fleets to serve as the anchors for two Mini-Race teams. Then the other fleets can join one side or the other. The ideal would be for the two sides to be fairly equal in production.

caferace is not eligible to win the belt, but he is certainly welcome to join the contest.

Here is the list of Mini-Racers:

Philippart ------------- 3000 RAC
Rudy Toody ----------- 2200 RAC -- dropping out to repair 2 boxes
BlackMountainCow
petrusbroder

When we get some big producers, we can choose up sides.

Sounds like great fun :)
Is this gonna be a multi project challenge or a single project?

I sign up, I peak at about 3000 RAC in projects like Rosetta and WCG which are in the middle field in terms of credit they award/second. Not much, I know, but maybe I'll make the difference for a team :D

Thanks for organizing this Rudy!

We will race on the project that wins the poll.

I was the low man on the Gang of Three. I like to think that my purpose was to make the other two look good!

I really would like to be on this one - but that won't work.
But in October ... I have parts for one C2D and lack only the CPU for the second - may even be a quaddie .. :D
OTOH: if Johan joins ... then we are all in trouble ... ;)

You can sign up for one side when you get back from holiday. We just need to get your starting numbers. This is almost like someone adding a few more cpus to the fleet.

PS: This will also be useful to recruit others to join a fleet that is behind. Remember, only the highest producer on the winning side can win the belt. The others are there to make them look good. (And to have fun, of course!)

Since I am crunching - on a few computers - Einstein@home, I am in - from the beginning - if E@H will be chosen as TAS' project in August.

Starting E@H now assures you'll have some WU's completed before mid-August. :D

We need more fleets! You guys who have only a few boxes should jump in. There are no big guns signed up yet. You might win the belt!
