Thx Peter!

I finally managed to bring some PCs online again for Rosetta, so expect some cred from my direction!

Guys, Thanks for the inputs on my problem. Seems like the issue is with my computer itself. Something is breaken in there. But don't think I'll have time to figure it out any time soon.

The DC runs fine on my laptop :)

Jittos - the computer could be overheating. DC programs make a CPU run hotter than most any other programs.

If the computer is overclocked it may be just a little too far overclocked. Again, most DC programs need a stable overclock. Other programs will run fine but not DC.

I have started up work on this project. (Username = remy if you need it to add my to the TAS stats.)

I have my preferences set to use two processors but in BOINC it is only showing a single task. Is there something I should do to get multiple processes running?

EDIT

Nevermind, it just took it a while before the second one started.

Well, you'd have to have either a dual core CPU, a Pentium with HT or a multi CPU system. If that is the case, you might have to go to the "project" tab of BOINC and "refresh" the project in order for it to fetch the latest changes to your prefs.

:)

For some reason it just took a bit but everything looks good now. I have a 2.8 Pentium D (2gig) and a 3.0 Pentium 4 (HT)(1gig) on it right now. I have a 2000+xp and G4 laying around but I am not sure the power in this house can handle all of that and my monitors. :S

Here is hoping my little bit helps. :)

Stats for Rosetta@Home as of June 10:

New members in TAS: none
TAS-members joining the project:BlackMountainCow

TAS' stats
___ Credits _______ RAC _________ Credits ________ RAC _____ Production
___ May 31 ______ May 31 ________ June 10 ______ June 10 _____ in June
1 920 181.72 ___ 10 750.91 _____ 2 049 124.83 ___ 13 751.60 ___ 128 943.11

In the first 10 days of the project, TAS has produced 128 943 credits, i.e. 12 894 credits/day. This should put our monthly output in to approximately 400 000 credits, especially considering that TAS-members are still joining (welcome BMC!) and that the RAC is still rising (from 10 750 to 12 554 (+ 16.8% 6 days ago) to 13 751 (+ 27.9%, today). Given the previous experience we should increase the RAC to approximately 15 000 credits, and thus the production should get close to 400 000 credits.
We will not rise in the ranks this month.
TAS has produced 13% of the TeAm's output. This is however no such a big increase, since the biggest producers were crunching R@H anyhow before.
The objective is to get as many crunchers as possible to help to crunch the CASP7-challenge so that one of us may get lucky and get the best approximation of the folding ... :)
