Edit June 10: The stats as of June 10 are here!

Edit June 6: The stats for the first 5 days of crunching are here.

Edit June 4: The starting stats are here.

June 1:The poll is closed.

13 TAS-members voted.

1 vote_ - Chronos
4 votes - µFluid
5 votes - Rosetta@home CASP7 Challenge
2 votes - EON
1 vote_ - Pancreatic Cancer Research A United Devices Project.

The winner is Rosetta@home the CASP7-challenge.
It is a first that TAS returns to a project within a year. The reason for this is that TA is an important team in Rosetta and that Rosetta is participating in CASP7, an annual challenge to crunch - fold given proteins, to do it correctly and as fast as possible. So TAS:ers: lets get crunching, help Rosetta to win andf help TA to get forward.

I propose thatthe motto will be: Not one day below 100 000 credits!
We should be able to add some 10 000 credits to the daily output in 10 days or so ...

Hey Peter is this just the same old Rosetta project right? There's not a special site or anything else new I have to sign up for because of the CASP7 challenge?

Yes, just the same rosetta as before (minus some probs ;)). But: they are sending out there CASP7-WUs (I do not know if they are visible as such) and we want to crunch them for a win for the team! :D

Bad news TAS-mates, I have lost my home internet connection for the next 10 days or so. Verizon (local DSL Internet provider) has badly messed up my connection and their service technicians will not be here to repair it until next week.

I still have a couple machines at work contributing some WUs to the cause but my home fleet of four dual-core AMDs is out until further notice :(

:(

I hope you have your cache all the way up to 10 days or you run something like CPDN or DPAD where internet doesn't really matter!

:)

Hello Jittos :)

And welcome to the DC forum!

If you want to join the TeAm just choose a project and enter the TeAm number or join TeAm Anandtech depending on the project.

If you want to join TAS - TeAm Anandtech Sentinel, the TeAms' rally team - go here and sign in. TAS members vote on which project to crunch each month. (It is a good way to learn the different projects).

Awesome. I've just joined the TeAm :)

Thanks GLeeM for the info.

A few time after running the BOINC for an hour or 2, the program would crash, and there's the typical "do you want to send the error to MS" pop up. Is this common? Maybe it's just my flaky internet connection..

Anyhow, looking forward to being part of the team :)

It is not common, at least for me.

But I had the same thing happen an hour ago

I wonder if it has something to do with a WU.

Welcome Jittos! Nice seeing you here.

Turning to your problem/question: This sound like a crashed application - i.e. not BOINC in itself, but rather the "crunching program". Has it happened more than one time? If so, check which WU iyou are crunching. Then you may want to stop BOINC and reboot the computer. If that error happens again, check if it is the same WU. If so, abort it. After that check BOINC now and then to see if all is well.

Rosetta has had probelms with stuck WUs, cvrashing WUs and most of these probs (but probably not all) have been solved.
