TAS-member thread for December 2008: A race in WCG

Some time ago the TeAm, has issued a team challenge in World Community Grid (WCG):
a race (for those who don not fold) between different teams. As of now 34 teams have accepted, late comers are allowed, so I think there will be more teams.

Here is the link to the challenge.

Here is the link to the TeAm-members stats.

The nice part is that WCG does all the stats for the race between the teams.
I'll do only the TAS-members individual stats (I hope I can figure out a way to collect the data more easily ...)

Please post here if you will crunch WCG in December!

Lets get crunching!

Edit: <<Please join! We need all and everyone to join. We are in a race with [Hard]-OPC!

Stickied, because we can't help ourselves when it comes to races! 🙂
DC Mod Elect Fullmetal Chocobo

I'll definitely crunch WCG. As suggested in another thread, I'll switch my fleet a couple of days early so that I can get a "running start" and be near full-strength by the time the challenge starts. Actually, as soon as I see the TeAm pass 1M in Docking, I'll switch.

Thanks for setting up the challenge, Peter.

Cheers,
Sofa King

I can't run Folding (well, I CAN but I don't want to spend hours setting it up) and we're only a few points away from 1 mil in Docking so I'm switching everything over to WCG today. 🙂

The day after tomorrow is the start of the Nwe Year Challenge. I hope at least some will crunch WCG!
Please post here if you do so I can do the stats!

The following TAS-members have decided to join the challenge:
Alyx
caferace
EULA
Fardringle
IJump
Neurodog
Petrusbroder
Philipart
Sofa King

I will not be participating in F@H or WCG this month or on the Jan TAS project. I have decided that because I am also a big violator of the OT restriction in this forum, I am going to keep a low profile until such time as I think things might be fun again.

See you in February.

LoL!
I really appreciate that! 😀

It would not be the same place without - among others - you, our inhouse analyst of nymphomaniacs (I think I'll change your title over @ TAS! 😉

I believe the race has started. Who is ahead? Where do I go to find out?

PS: I want to apologize for getting all selfish and pouty, yesterday.

The challenge is started since approx. 8½ hours. The stats are updated once a day (around midnight UTC). The first results will be out (or in 😉 ) in about 17 hours.
There are 44 teams in the challenge ... lets see how the crunching does.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ALL JOIN THE RIGHT TEAM!

TeAm AnandTech is the one to join, we don't support the team "anandtech" anymore!

I have a dozen cores processing WCG Nutritious Rice as we speak. Or is that: as we read/write?

These same cores are also processing some SIMAP for a couple of days.
