in case will rabrittain tie me, these rules apply:
If two or more participants reach their goal or the same number of credits (as calculated to two decimals) then a sudden death challenge starts:
who of those two participants crunches closest to 500 more credits.
The sudden death match starts when all other participants stopped crunching or have passed their goal.
We need to set an additional rule since this is too easy to reach with the fixed credit system.
Sounds good to me.
I just talked to Rex and he is really busy this weekend and may not have a chance to stop his computer in time. As of this afternoon his computer is bone-dry and getting the message about WUs are available but allocated to other platforms.
We can only wait for Sunday midnight UTC.

Yes, a modified rule seems to be necessary.
Petrus is thinking
still thinking
this is really hard - if we want to be fair.
Proposal:
This rule is to replace the rule above:
1. Let the crunchers look at their output during the challenge and post the number of credits they would crunch in 24 hours. They may use any number of computers under their control.
2. Let the crunchers crunch for 24 hours - when the time is up the crunchers detach all computers from the project.
3. The cruncher closest to his goal wins.
I think this makes a second tie much less probable ...
This would be too easy to predict. I attach, download 12 WUs, set no more work and let 'er rip!
I think an essay about why they deserve to wear the belt instead of the others who tied.
We all vote!

EDIT: We give special consideration if the essay is written on a $20 bill.
