Never done it in Target, but I've worn a blue shirt in Best Buy and gotten it.

I used to work at Worst Buy.

On my days off, I might go in to buy something on discount.

Customers would actually walk up to me and say " I know youre not working right now, but can you help me anyway?"

Epic Fail

The staff in the US Target stores usually wear a red shirt to stand out from the customers. The billion dollar retail chain tell the staff to provide their own shirts. 24-year-old Antonio McKenzie walked into a number of stores in southern Florida wearing a red polo shirt.

He helped a few customers, stacked some shelves as he made his way to the electronic section. Then after helping himself to $17-thousand worth of Apple's iPod Touch music players he just walked out unchallenged.

He was however noticed on security camera as he stood out from real employees who didn't do as much work as he did. Paul Dayton the store manager was tracking his moves on the security system as a potential employee of the month.

Now maybe they will see fit to provide shirts with a big Target logo on the back!

And face billion dollar lawsuits for getting shot at?

How often do you think I was mistaken for a Fry's employee?

MotionMan

Depends, were you walking towards customers or away from them to hide like the Fry's employee's do?

LOL - Good point.

Actually, I am/was usually either walking to wherever I was going or standing looking at items on the shelves.

I think many of the people seem surprised when I do not answer them with a Russian accent (I am Caucasian of Eastern European decent).

At my job, I wear a white polo with the logo on the chest and a nametag. I have NEVER been mistaken for an employee of anywhere else. That just shows you that everybody except my employers has the good sense to not dress their employees in white polos, which look bad on everyone.

I can just be shopping in a retail store and people will ask me for help finding things. Maybe I just look like a generic college guy who works retail?

I wore a blue shirt to Walmart a few times. This one.
While I still worked there. :D

Upper management never noticed, they didn't care enough about wage employees to give more than a cursory glance. Three shift managers did see it though. One just laughed and kept walking. Another one said, "That's pretty good." The other one laughed too, but added, "You probably shouldn't wear that here," but walked away smiling.

!!!!! Can it be???
:disgust:

Huh, not quite. They sort of fixed the disgust smiley.

Disgust used to be more of a smirky icon. Oh well. At least it doesn't grin anymore.

I made the same mistake of wearing a white collar shirt and tie in Fry's once, never again!
