Target clearance - Microsoft MN-700 Wireless router 24.48 at Target!!!!

😎 Just bought a Microsoft MN-700 wireless router 802.11g with 4 port switch from the Target at 4300 s. Pulaski in Chicago, IL for 24.48 + tax. Original price was 59.99 and was still factory sealed so I thought what the heck. Don't know if this is at all Target's so YMMV. Saw at least 5 more of them on the shelf. They also had the Microsoft wireless pci adapters for 19.97 each. Saw about 3 of those.

sweet, I'll check out my local Targets today.

cbr9291 - welcome to Anandtech 😀 Hope you'll like it here.

I bought this router when it was $59.99 but return it because browsing on the wired port was so slow. It was fine on the wireless connection. Only the computers connected on wired ethernet switch. Really strange.

Naustica,

Your slow-response on the wired port was probably an network card "auto-negotiate" problem. Try setting your PC's NIC to 100Mb/s Half Duplex (rather than auto-negotiate).

I see this very often with many network devices. Every vendor seems to do "auto-negotiate" a bit differently! Sometimes "auto-negotiate" works between two devices, but the next day it won't! It will bounce between 10 and 100, which requires the retransmission of the Ethernet frames.

Cheers!

Hey wildcats, I already have an mn-700, could I get another and set it to be a repeater? or somehow use it to boost the range of my network?

this router any good? i'm looking to upgrade to 802.11G, my B router isn't cutting it anymroe when I want to xfer stuff across the network.

I upgraded to the Microsoft MN-700 from a D-Link 802.11b router and i noticed a significant speed difference transfering files.

Thanks, Cbr9291 (and welcome to AT!) 🙂

Just picked the last one up from the local Target in MA.

Was $34.98 - wouldn't match to the Seekonk location, but was cheaper for me to buy it here than to drive there. Drat them and their clearance schedules!

Thanks again - am moving into a new apartment in a bit over a month with a few people and this'll do the trick networkingwise!

Edit: Yay! My 100th post.... 3.1 years that took. 🙂

Checked this out in Richmond IN today and it was weird. Shelf tag said "was $49.99 Now $39.99 but the scanner said $49.99. Didn't really need it so I walked away to check another day.

Thanks OP!

Snagged 3 at the Pulaski Target, still one left. Didn't see any PCI cards near the router, so I thought someone had snagged them all. Walked around the aisle and found one PCI card sitting on the side of the aisle 🙂.

My local store at these for $34.xx and the cards were $27.xx. I still haven't got the MN-500 setup that I bought at OM a while back for $24.00.

It was $34 something in Northwest Houston, one left at the steeplechase store, none left in the store on 249 (for any ATers in the area).

Anyone know why some are clearanced at $34 and others at $24? Greedy little Targets

$21.18 w/ tax for the PCI Cards @ my local target in South Florida Sawgrass Mall they had 4 left no routers but my friend said those are comin in later this week.
