I have about 8 cordless drills including a 18V DeWalt and a B&D Industrial. I also have 2 Chinese 14.4V jobs. The Chinese drills work great. I?ve had them for about 5 years now with the original batteries. One thing to look for is a two-speed gear box. This will really increase the torque for driving screws.

12V cordless drill for $14.99--regular price! This same drill is made by the Taiwan manufacturer and sold under a bunch of names. It's no DeWalt or Porter-Cable, of course, but for the price, it's hard to go wrong. (Less than the price of a battery pack of a top-line brand.)

500 rpm's is about the same as the 7.2 volt b&d's mentioned above, but this is an awesome price for a lite duty drill.

I love my 24 volt drill and sawsall from Dewalt.

Dewalt makes black and decker FYI.

Actually... B&D makes Dewalt. It was a marketing ploy to steal business back from Makita. I learned all about it in my marketing class.

That is correct. B&D also makes FireStorm.

B&D 14.4v sawzalls are on clearence for $48.90 too. Nice tool for the price. Hell the battery that comes with this sells for $35 alone. As an added bonus, the batteries fit DeWalt 14.4v tools and vice versa.

I went to target tonight just looking. Most of the clearance B&D stuff was gone. But did find a Skil circular saw for $33, 12amp, legend series, 2.4 hp, 7 1/4", comes with a 40tooth steel blade and carrying case. Now if they only threw in a carbide blade....but for $33 its a good saw! Homedepot sells it or the 11amp legend for $49.97 (HD had both, target only had the 12amp).

Like others have said, stay away from the 7.2 and 14v drills. I have a 18V Firestorm, works great and came with 2 battery packs.

it's at target for clearane right now...

it's $99.99, but was on sale for around $69.90

i got one.....and i got a jigsaw for clearance too.
woot woot!

I noticed HomeDepot has a set of Ryobi 18v tools for $199, circular trim saw, drill, flashlight, reciprocating saw, case, 2 batteries and a 1hr charger. Not sure if thats a regular price or a sale price but worth a look in your in the market for cheap tools.

If you can find an RTX tool on clearance pick it up. I bought the old blue one and burned it up right away, They replaced i with an RTX and the thing outperforms my high dollar Dremal in every way. Plus the keyless chuck is sweet 😀

Went to my local target last night and found the skil circular saw for $19.94. Also phillips 66 motor oil in 5w30 and 10w40 wt. for 50 cents a quart!

I saw (no pun intended) the 2.3hp Skilsaw at Target last week for about $27. Perhaps this is the one seen in the previous post for $19?

Ya almost got that one, but it was at the $27 mark at my target I think. It doesn't come with a carrying case, has a 10amp motor, and a 20 tooth blade instead of the 40 tooth. Both are prolly well suited for light duty work, but for $6 more in my case (no pun intended, get it case...awe never my mind...), the legend was a no brain'er.

For anyone about to paint i saw 2inch quick release masking tape for 5.79, normally is 7 and change at HD...Not much of a savings but when you own a house every dime counts

Man, if they have a 12v+ jigsaw for cheap I'm snagging one! That's the one useful tool I don't have. Then again, if I'm gonna be cutting my case with it, I should probably just get a corded one 🙂
Well I got some good news for you hehe. Still in the process of modding my case but I got alot of use outta this jigsaw. Bought it threw notherntool.com as a gotta-get-me-other-items-to-go-with-this-hot-deal kinda thing. This things seriously kicks ass and it cuts through my sheetmetal with the greatest of ease. Best thing is that it's only $17.99!!! Try to beat that Home Depot 😀!
