Tapped out (tripping the circuit breaker)

I have finally reached the limit. Turning on one more machine trips the breaker. What sucks is I've got 12 machines still to power. I'd add them to alternate circuit, but overloads UPS.

Single room building (converted carriage house (aka garage). It has a 60 amp line into it to feed a hot water heater (shut off), electric baseboard heaters (also off), A/C unit (must have, given 14 machines currently running), main lights and outlets, and bathroom lights, fan, outlets. I have an APC RM3000VA on the circuit that's tripping. Doesn't surprise me as the UPS is slated for 30 amps and the circuit only has a 15 amp breaker - better safe than sorry. I have another APC RM1000VA connected to the bathroom circuit. What I need to do is add a 30 amp circuit to dedicate to the 3000VA. I could also disconnect KVMs and network switches to add more machines.

Does your locality have a DCholics anonymous? It would probably be cheaper to attend a few of those sessions

Just have power company set a dedicated transformer for the Computer............er.................... Carriage House.

Or run extension cord from the house...................

It only becomes a problem when you start setting them on the front porch and in the yard..................

NOTHING outdoes wife's shoe collection. I swear they propogate, like rabbits.

Don't worry, Grendel8, they are lower end systems that I took offline to swap in my newer, better ones. And big slugs that they are, take a LOT of power. Think about a HP LXR Quad PPro200. Turning that beast on is what actually tripped the breaker.

I like the idea of running extension cord from house......

Well, at the moment, neither do I. Actually, that HP is Quad "Xeon" 333. PPro OverDrive chips had 512K full speed cache and 48-bit addressing, thus essentially precursor to P2 Xeon (which started at 400MHz on 100MHz FSB). The offline machines are all P2s, except one Dual Xeon 550 and a Celeron 1.3GHz.

Online are: Three Barton 3200+, P4/2.4C/800HT, two P4/2.53/533, two P4/2.4B/533, P3-S/1.26/512K, two P3/933, two P3/667, four X3/500, four P3/500, four P3/450, and a Celeron 366. Switching to diskless systems would sure save a bunch of power.

Just upped the 2.4B to a 3.06HT. Got a board to oc the 2.4B, but forgot to order a cooler. Maybe I'll get something really good and clock the max out of it. Suggestions?
