After a backup using WinXP's native backup application, the activity light on the tape drive stays on. The backup works fine though. If I go back into the backup application, it sounds like the drive rewinds and then the light goes out. I ran the Seagate tape diagnostics on this tape drive, and it worked fine. This is a Seagate TapeStor Travan 20GB ATAPI drive connected to the secondary IDE channel as slave with an CD-ROM as master. Any ideas?
