Good lord, if signatures are enabled by default I'm not giving them a dime. I'm already annoyed by the few I see in this thread alone.

you can modify the signature to whatever you want (or disable it entirely)

Does that one line really annoy you that much?

(Yes - I read this post on my computer and then replied from my phone just to be irritating)

Yup. It's one thing to advertise it, but this is pure annoyance. Some of us have the forum signatures disabled for a reason. Adding a signature to the main body of the post completely ruins the short and quickloading way I wanted to run the forums. No embedded pics, no sigs, fast and light. I keep avatars as that's usually how I remember people first, and less about names.

Also, when I went to AT on my phone I get a pop up that there's an app available to use. Luckily I think that was a one time thing. Some forums I visit have this pop up every time I view the page.

every
single
time

I have to hit cancel to get to the main forums and browse like normal. This is part the plugin, and part how the iphone handles notifications.

Then of course this thread has been reposted and cross-posted all over the fucking place here. Of course that's not the apps fault. It does add to the annoyance though.

This is worse than shareware, which annoys the user until they buy the full version. This is a full blown virus as it affects everybody here whether you use it or not, and the only way to get rid of some of it is to buy their app. But then you're at the mercy of everybody else's settings. I hate it. I know I'm in the minority and some people don't notice or care... but in my PERSONAL (only me) opinion, this thing hurts more than helps. And even worse, it hurts those who aren't even on their phones. We still have to see that stupid ad at the end of every post.

I didn't say this would make it slower, it's just more cluttered. I feel the same way about friends who keep their "sent from my iphone" sig on their email.

No you don't, you can disable that in User CP which is exactly my point. The sig is there for those that want the info, but for those that don't want to read it they can disable it.

These tapatalk sigs are entirely out of my control. YOU are in control of seeing my sig if you choose. I am not forcing you to keep that option enabled. I am not ending each post with a "-Brandon" either, so the extra text is entirely in your control.

I don't know why you guys just can't admit it's silly to add this sig to every post. It's not a big deal, and I'm just expressing my opinion. There's simply no reason for it. I don't need to know how you're posting it, and I certainly don't need even more clutter on my tiny phone screen.

I think it serves two purposes...

1) As you said, advertising for the app.
2) It alerts the grammar nazis that you're posting from a cell phone, so lay off with the criticism.

I've heard of this app before but never had a compelling reason to buy until now. Very nice thus far.

I find the signatures just as annoying, Brandon. I also don't like post-signing either... it's simply useless information. Although, if we started governing "useful information", I'm sure most people wouldn't be allowed to post at all ;).

If it really could stop grammar Nazis then it may have some purpose. You and I both know there's no stopping them though.

Is it worth $3?

Most love it myself included. A few bitched about it but haven't given decent reasons. The few reasons I've seen mentioned are fixable in settings. Quote, edit and pictures are some of the upsides over the mobi site.

I like it. It'll make it much more efficient when browsing from a phone.

Hi guys;

After some discussion among the mods, we're going to ask that you please disable your Tapatalk signatures when posting here on the AT Forums. Technically the extra sig is in violation of our rules - you already have a dedicated sig space - and because it's in the main body of the post, other readers can't hide it as they can your dedicated sigs. This is proving to be quite annoying to some people.

If you feel the need to have a Tapatalk sig, please add it to your dedicated sig instead.

-Thanks
