Tanning

I've never tanned before, but my buddy wants me to try it (he owns a tanning salon). I don't mind, but I know there's a lot of heath issues surrounding tanning - will one time on a low intensity machine hurt?

Don't do it. Not only do you pay to damage your skin instead of getting it free, the tan looks lame. I can spot a tanning bed tan from a mile away, and all it says to me is "dumbass".

I've gone tanning 5 times and I have not developed testicular cancer yet.

Edit: You also may not notice a major difference over 1 use.

i used to hate it but think its alright now. makes me look a bit more defined, and i look a funky yellow color when im pale since im a darky.

and i love bitches who are tan. i hate pasty chicks. doesnt look fake unless they do it way too much, then its just gross.

I stopped after a few friends talked me out of it. I also have weird sensitive skin. It weakened my blood vessals or capulariers in my feet, and a day later my feet were covered with red specks and then swelled up after taking a jog. It was weird enough to keep me from going.

The only Heath issue I can think of is that it might melt if you bring it into the booth or bed with you. Just leave the bar with your clothing and it should be fine.

I've been thinking about it. I burn extremely easy so I try not to get too much sun but wondering how bad tanning beds really are.

I've heard of people doing it before a holiday so they don't burn to f0ck as they'll invariably forget/ stay out too long on the first day and go lobster style.

I would possibly pre tan before a holiday if I did burn.

A slight tan makes people look for healthly. Although if you live in an area with not a lot of sun exposure you might look weird with a tan in off seasons.

Luckily here, it's not hard to keep a tan year round.

It eventually goes away.. might as well go outside and get a free tan. I remember there was an article saying using a tanning bed increases your chances of getting cancer by 80%. Why the fuck would I do that.

I work at a water park every summer and I see what 8 hours in the hot sun everyday can do to someone real quick. My supervisor whos 24 and who has worked there for about 4-5 summers looks like shes 50.

Matt, you are a hypochondriac. If you do this, you will worry every day for the next 25 years that you now have skin cancer.

Don't do it.

Have you done ONE SINGLE THING in your life, since joining AT, that you HAVE NOT run by OT?

I have sorta reddish skin, not too bad.. But my doc told me to go to a tanning salon every other week or so and it helped my complexion a lot. I haven't gone in a long time..
