What kind of soup was it in Tampopo when they are reading the story in the beggining about the noodle expert of 40 years?

I know it's ramen without seeing the movie :)
Now I'm fricking hungry though and no ramen in sight. :(

What's the soup look like? I can probably tell you what it is.

If memory serves, it should be just plain shoyu ramen...at least that's what I have everytime I go to a noodle house.

It had pork and shinjuku root in it. Remember the part where the old man tells the guy to eye the pork slices, poke them into the soup and stuff like that?

Excellent movie, btw.

Thank you!
Does shinjuku root look sort of like a flat white and purple flower?

Yo,
A trendy restaurant here by that name, Tampopo, opened up after that movie came out. Never tried it.
