Taller people earn more!!! why? social descrimination? shallowness?

These studies always tend to err on the side of the sensational, ignoring many other more tempered explanations.

For example:
"As early as age three -- before schooling has had a chance to play a role -- and throughout childhood, taller children perform significantly better on cognitive tests,"

This statement is intentionally misleading, trying to get people to draw the conclusion that tall kids have higher IQ. What they do not talk about is the likelyhood that since people grow at different rates and different times, the taller kids may simply be more developed (both in terms of height and in terms of brain development). That could easily explain the different on cognitive tests, but that would be boring.
