Taller people earn more!!! why? social descrimination? shallowness?

Tell that to all the high IQ short Jewish and Asian guys I knew at Cornell.

And how tall are the researchers?

They are both about 5 feet 8 inches tall, well above the average height of 5 feet 4 inches for American women.

Yeah, no bias there.

6'7" here, age fourteen 🙂. I would hope I'm pretty smart, and I have heard of these articles before. There was a book called 'The Height of Your Life" on this subject that was a little more in depth.

now that I think about it though, the top earners on my dad's side are in height order. Ah well.

Somehow I have a feeling this doesn't have too great a bearing on one's success in life, so I suppose I still have to devote myself to my studies.

Taller people, on average, earn more simply because they're considered more attractive. There are other studies out there about this.

holy ****** you're tall. and only 14!!! basketball?

anyways, I'm 17 and only 5'5" 🙁

I do notice a disproportionate amount of the officers in the military are tall. I think that people naturally look to the tall as having leadership qualities. It has an effect that causes those qualities to come out and that breeds success. I think the IQ theory is slightly suspect.

making a lot of money doesn't necessarily imply that you're smart 😉 😛

Taller people earn more!!! why?

because -

:music: Short People got no reason... To live :music:

(just kidding - daughter of a 5' 0" mother and mother of a 5' 2'' daughter)

Hmm, too bad many of the taller people at work are dumb as a stump. And when visiting my nephews schools, the same thing applies.

This is easily explained:
Tall people have bigger hands, and you know what they say about guys with big hands...

Thats why they make more money.

Indeed. It is just an avg statistic and isn't a fact for everyone!

The president of my company is 6'6. With a Phd in Chemical Engineering and a masters in Business Law.

That is pretty interesting.

I am definitely tall for an asian. So this is a bit of an ego booster for me. 😛

Meh, smarts are just half of the picture, motivation and work ethic are so much more important in today's society. Smart people may have a lot of potential, but if they aren't given direction to focus that potential at a young age, they become listless, lazy, and morose.
