talladega nights

destrekor

Lifer
here's my very short review:

awesome! go see it! very funny! two thumbs up!

i witnessed the radio screening on Tuesday night at my theater, and the crowd loved it. I saw it myself at the staff screening last night, and it was also well liked by the staff. i found it hilarious and actually had a good back story to the comedy as well.

i'd say around 9/10, and thats hard to do because i don't give 10/10 as nothing if perfect, and 9/10 might as well be perfect because all movies will have flaws. but it was genuinly funny.

edit:
i know there are already topics on this, um... topic, but the way I see it, they were all preview threads. this here is an new thread seeing that the movie is out.

But, but.. It's got Will Ferrel and involves Nascar.. the average ATOTer's brain will hemorrhage and explode just from thinking about seeing it.

That said, my wife wants to see it, but I'm not that excited about it. The only other movie I plan on seeing this year is Snakes on a Plane.

people may not like will ferrell but I actually enjoy his humor in certain movies. I like Old School, Anchorman, and now this. i haven't always liked his work, but those movies do stick out as well done. his role he plays fits in the movies, and he easily plays the not-so-smart southern hick of a character Ricky Bobby.

You lost all credibility with that one statement alone.

Anchorman was a humorous movie. To disagree means that:

a) You have no sense of humor
b) Your sense of humor differs from that of someone who likes the movie

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say b). 😉

I have a great sense of humor and I did watch that movie but kept waiting for the humor. It was more like a trainwreck and towards the end of the movie I just kept being amazed that it kept getting worse.

Very disappointing movie.

I'll wait for this one to come out on HBO in a few months and watch it then.

im not just if your trying to offend me by not liking a movie a like... not really sure... but.. here's the kicker.. i don't care. i liked it, enjoyed it no less, and if that's what keeps the world spinnin' for me, im happy. 🙂
anchorman wasn't worldclass, sure.. but it was stupid humor.
why do I bet you hate al the Kevin Smith movies like Dogma, Clerks 1 and 2, Mallrats, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back... like any of those? not the brightest of humor, but I just saw Clerks II and its damned funny, even funnier if you've seen his other movies.

FIXED...

Haha, that movie was hilarious. The jokes came off as casual conversation by idiots instead of punchline driven jokes. Very very funny.

Saw this tonight and loved it. I think it has a different type humor than previous Will Ferrell movies I have seen. I hated Anchorman, but I found this movie to be extremely hilarious. A little familiarity with NASCAR makes the movie even better. It is a good comedy regardless.

I'm a bit iffy about Will Ferrel movies. He does what I consider to be 'dumb comedy'. Basically acting as an idiot. (at least he doesn't go as low as fart jokes and the like)
I do find his movies amusing though. I imagine I will see this one in theater.
