I drink ~3 large mugs of pure peppermint tea pretty much every day. Good for digestion and great for the breath! :awe:

Currently my favorite is decaf Chai tea from celestial seasonings. Let it seep for a few minutes, some sugar, some milk = good to go! Usually drink one cup a night.

I like Celestial Seasonings herb teas. Here's a few of my favorites from their herb line...

Sleepytime

Tension Tamer

Mint Magic

Honey Vanilla Chamomile

Also, green teas have less caffeine than black tea does. That might be worth a look also.
Thanks! I picked up some sleepytime and honey vanilla chamomile. I want to get some tension tamer for at work but I keep forgetting.

I'm going to try the sleepytime here in a bit. The honey vanilla wasn't bad at all.

I'm glad you liked it :^)

Yogi Tea is pretty good also. I've been getting that from BigLots lately. They've been getting some interesting teas over the last few months or so. After having a few, you should be able to get a better grasp of what you like in a tea. I tend to stay away from fruits in hot tea, as many times they're on the tart side. I use them as flavoring for iced tea. I'll use 50:50 fruit tea(let's say Lemon Zinger), and black tea for iced. You might like them hot. It's worth a try anyway. I prefer warm spices and mint myself.

this does mean to just let the teabag sit in the water, right?

Yea, either bags, loose tea in a pot, or loose tea in a strainer. A synonym would be infuse...

I made an herbal infusion today using chamomile, licorice, and mint. I let the herbs steep for about 5 minutes to get the best flavor.

Even a black tea like a darjeeling only has 1/4 the caffiene as coffee.

I drink darjeeling with honey just about every day. I'm not crazy about green teas which are more likely to be caffiene free.

Find a good coffee shop that has loose leaf tea. You'll find one you like... then you can buy bulk. Pay attention to steep time and h2o temperature.

This post speaks for itself, and pretty much sums up my opinion of herbal teas. Nothing more satisfying than a nice, piping hot mug of "Tension Tamer."

Another fan of herbal teas here. I like Tazo's wild sweet orange, apple red, passion, and zen teas iced. For hot tea, their spicy ginger, lemongrass, and the apple red again are all good. They have been on sale lately so I have mostly had them. I was just drinking plain green tea from Trader Joes because it was stupid cheap. I live in Florida now, and TJ hasn't perforated the land of the weirdos yet.

I HATE tea. The taste of the tea is what used to drive me away from any and all tea whatsoever. I recently found Good Earth Sweet and Spicy tea which has opened my eyes. It's tastey.

Yep the Good Earth teas are very good

Thanks!

The honey vanilla wasn't bad at all.

Adding both honey and vanilla to chamomile flowers, there's that big taste sans caffeine you wanted, OP!

My personal beef with Celestial Seasonings (and ilk) is their ungodly markup.

Nevertheless, if it works for you . . .

Health food stores, many "ethnic" groceries, and "bulk in a bin" places all sell loose leaf at vastly better unit prices. An old standby for me is chamomile and peppermint mixed with honey added.

I'm also schizophrenically on the other end with tea, drinking straight Lipton black with plenty of milk and sugar. It's the English in me, I guess.
