$728.87! (after rebates and sales tax)
:Q:Q:Q
What is the quality is like?
How much use out of it are are you going to get?
What can you do with the money that you save?
I have not seen it in action.
From the reviews i've read, the quality is very good so long as you use either S-Video or Component sources to feed it.
I already watch movies on a regular basis, and it would be even moreso with this projector.
Hmmm, I didn't really have any plans for the money I have saved...![]()

IF you buy it make sure to pay for it using a premium cc (Visa, Amex, MC) which offers a free extra year of warranty coverage.
Good idea.
My Citibank MC will automatically tack on a free extra year!![]()

typical of the cheaper ones...Infocus X1 has the same problem. Which means these things aren't the best for HDTV.

1080i only needs 540 lines of horizontal resolution.
Trouble is...1080i is 1920 pixels wide. That projector is only going to give you 800. A few shy, eh?

That's not the JVC D-ILA projector that can handle 2048x1536, right?Originally posted by: Kyteland
My roommate was looking for a nice projector to play a high resolution animation he is doing. He finally hunted one down that was capable of the resolutions he wanted.
It cost $225,000
He's not buying it....

You mean 1920 lines of vertical resolution
This Runco?
Any RPTV will give about 1400-1500 lines of vertical resolution and, typically, 1200 horizontally. One with 9" CRT guns will probably provide the full resolution.
800x600 just isn't going to do it justice.
And, 720p is completely out the window.

Gee, that Runco is only $49,000CDN out of my price range.![]()
Not to mention that CRT projectors are way too bulky to be going in my living room. In addition, setting the geometry and convergence of a CRT projector every time it gets jostled around tends to get old as well.
From what I can tell, this projector can do nearly everything I ask of it.
