no greater power source as abundant as the sun, may get into solar power technology. start out as a technician, then may go into solar systems design, until i get to boss level.

yay or nay?

I think years of mediocrity and heavy medication followed by a minimum wage job at the local grocery store deli would suit you much better over the long term.

I'm not following. You want to go to school to become a technician with aspirations of "solar system designs"?

Of you want to forego school to become a technician with aspirations of "solar system designs"?

I say that solar is a commodity market and the Chinese will make you jobless. Unless you intend to install... on the roof of a building where the weather makes it so the sun shines most of the year with no shade.

In any case, sounds delightful.

Solar system design sounds like an awesome job title. It's harder than it looks to design a solar system that wont collapse the instant the planets line up!

On serious note, most solar panels, if all, are made in China. There arn't much jobs in that here.

Though personally I think what we need to aim for is thermal solar systems with pressurized gas or steam turbines. While it has moving parts, it is actually simpler to design than solar cells, and less environmentally impacting. The materials required to make the cells are also limited so it will come a point that we run out.

Elevenpog has it figured out for you.....It worked out for Mayne, didn't it?

not really now that I think about it. gonna shop for some more schools. maybe I'll just be a drunken musician all my life

You've never really established yourself as a musician to begin with, so good luck with that one 🙂

gonna stick to music. it's my home. pretty advanced in the software fl studio that I can open up a school, but gonna shop for some music schools for the fun factor. take my money

So you went from installing solar panels to opening up a fucking music school? In less than an hour? I doubt you have any talents. My talent is beating up Pitbull's

enrolling in solar school for fun factor/the sake of attaining new knowledge. Is this even rational?

I think you should go for it but only because "Solar School" sounds totally awesome, right out of a Heinlein novel. "After completing Solar School, Ian McGulp went on to graduate Star Academy at the top of his class taking the rank of Second Lieutenant, before taking a PhD at the Astroversity."

why do people think just because i plan on studying solar technology that I will be doing all the heavy work

Once upon a time I checked out books on nuclear physics to learn about nuclear power. If I was going into the electrical field it would be nuclear.
