Oh the other guy was talking about Camaro. One person starts some nonsense and everyone gets off track. I brought up the e39 since OP said he always wanted one. Don't dismiss the option! Just be willing to take care of it. She is a cruel mistress.

Too funny! Nice reply. Wrong of course, but nice. It amuses me.

I get people thinking my car is a Camaro when I tell them I have an SS. Then they think I have a Malibu when they see it.
(Hint: It's not a Camaro.)

I don't waste my time anymore. I just nod and smile. I don't really care. SSLEEPR don't care.

Well shit, I completely forgot about the SS. Completely misread the OP.

Speaking of someone who has no clue...

This is just silly. From a company that a year and half ago that recalled 30+ million vehicles?

GM makes shit cars, period. Fun car to drive, or not, don't sit around spouting off bullshit how GM is reliable and there will be no issues "whatsoever". You have no proof that is true and the 2014 model had several recalls.

How many recalls did Yugo have? How many cars does GM sell? What was the biggest driver behind the GM recall spike?

Thinking logically isn't really that difficult if you put your mind to it.

I guess that would depend on each person's perspective.

The 2016 is on a different platform (alpha platform from the Cadillac ATS) and loses about 200lbs from the 2015. Lighter, and stiffer than the outgoing 2015 platform.

The interior is generally accepted to be improved, but there could be a lot of personal preference.

The SS now has the option of the magnetic ride control, which is awesome, and the drive mode selector.

To me, that is a big enough difference for me to say no to the 2015.

EDIT: Came back in just to say I hate Chevy's new commercials with that douchenozzle bearded hipster. Sorry to any douchenozzle bearded hipsters that I may have offended.

Wait wait wait, you're talking about the Camaro not the SS right?

Because they have 0 APR 60mo financing incentive for the 15 SS and I always thought there was very little difference. The 15 SS already had MHD suspension...right? 400 lbs is a lot. Im hoping you're talking camaro not ss.

It's good that you want an auto. According to Autotrader there is exactly 1 new manual SS out of the 558 still available in the US.

The 2016s will be coming off the boat in a month or two.

Personally I don't like Chevy but I get the SS, I would only consider buying one once it has depreciated a bit.

I was trying to convince my mother to get one, but she test drove a 15 Hyundai Gen Coupe 6mt and fell in love.

That can't be right, All American Chevy in Midland has 2 with the manual, I saw themwith me own eyes.

That interior does look like crap actually. 45k for a chevy lol. Go for the Subaru. Or even better, get a Subaru and a nice old M5. Both would be better than the SS.

I sent an email to JHP Australia to see if they could source the HSV Gen-F exterior conversion and ship all of the parts to the United States. This is what I received just now.

Adam
The complete VF HSV Gen-F front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, tail lamps, front bumper mesh, front DRL, fog lamps, mounting brackets, wiring, rear bar lower trims and exhaust tips price approx. $12000 usd shipped... unpainted.

I'm seriously considering doing it. I was going to do more engine mods this year, but if I can get these now it will be worth it. It will be nearly impossible to convert after the Commodore is gone. I'll be the first in the US with a Gen-F conversion if I do it.

In May 2009, I bought a new 2008 Pontiac G8 GT that was being cleared out because Pontiac was going under. I owned it until last Friday. In case you don't know, the SS is the G8. GM brought it back as the Chevy SS with updates.

I loved the G8. It was my favorite car until now. Mine was reliable. Never broke down, never refused to start, nothing like that. I replaced tires twice and the front struts once.

If you can afford it, the SS will be a very fun car that doubles as a family sedan with tons of room.

The VFII has cleared customs in California ports and are now on their way to dealerships across US as the 2016 Chevrolet SS.

Are those VFII's exaclty the same as the SS, beyond the obvious badging differences. For whatever reason that Holden looks more aggressive than the SS. Maybe I'm just fooled by the badging.

The 2016 SS is the same car as the SS-V Redline in the video. The differences are wheels (no options for the US), satellite antenna, and of course the badges and other Chevrolet branding.

If you ordered a 2015 SS from Chevrolet, you could order one built the Holden badges. I'm not sure why they stopped that for 2016.

The 2014 and 2015 SS were actually better than the Holden versions. The SS came with the LS3 and eventually magnetic ride in 2015 while the V8 in the Commodores stuck with the 6.0L L77 (an E85 version of the L76 that's in all G8 GTs). You had to go to HSV for the LS3 and magnetic ride. For 2016, the Commodore and SS are the same.

Edit: I'm wrong. The Holden Commodore still doesn't have Magnetic Ride Control for 2016. The MRC implementation on the 2015/2016 SS is carried over from HSV.

An Australians review of the Chevrolet SS.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws-if6tnw78

The US has been getting bits and pieces of the VFII since 2014. It's as if they were using the USA for beta testing. The SS is still better than the Holden Commodore (not HSV) in Australia since it still doesn't have MRC. I'm thinking that the final year of Commodore will have MRC for Holden and the LS9 for HSV.
