2GBs of Ram...classic waste of $.
Should have been passively cooled from the factory.
Price is key, no info in the link above. $39 would be nice. Although OEM market will probably charge $75-100.

It will be a waste for displaying video, but will large amount of VRAM helps GPU computing/accelerating?

39 bucks for 2GB of RAM? lol.

Memory is a key factor for lots of GPGPU stuff, so it could help.. but seems more like a marketing gag to get unknowledgeable people to buy these cards

Yep, OEM video cards are often pretty ridiculous in their RAM to core ratio for marketing purposes.

I can see this being a decent entry level card for basic gaming.

2GB? No harm done as long as its cheap. GPGPU seems like a good fit for this card. Wonder if it folds better than the last reference 9600GSO.

48SP is a pretty high bump from previous nVIDIA low end products based on 16SP.

The 2GB is more of a marketing gimmick. But seeing as GDDR3 chips are cheap as dirt nowadays, they probably thought heck why not.

I think they had a ton of old ddr3 ram taking up storage and said what the heck, lets throw 2 gigs of ram on there and call it a day.
