Congressman on Jackson: 'He Was a Pedophile'
http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/05/...on-he-was-a-pedophile/
Congressman Pete King (R-NY) feels we should be honoring the men and women of the Armed Forces -- and not a "pedophile" and "child molester" like Michael Jackson.

Standing in front of the American Legion in Wantagh, King ripped into America's celebration of the life of Michael Jackson -- instead of the people who serve in the military.

It's safe to say King wasn't one of the 1.6 million people who signed up for memorial tickets.

see video in his own words.........calls MJ a low life in the video....

I believe that we should let MJ rest in Peace!!!

Seems to be a fairly good chance he was a pedophile. I wouldn't really harp on it as a politician, but a lot of pepole say a lot of sh*t. I just want to know when I'm going to stop hearing about MJ every time I turn on the news; let it go!

I really don't give a rat's ass about MJ. Never liked his music, thought he was mentally abnormal, and still consider that yes, he might well have been a pedo.

This guy was just speaking his mind, you know, that "free speech" thing.

And I have never believed that dieing garnered respect that you never had when you were alive.

The whole hoopla over the death is absolutely beyond me anyway.

I'm pretty sick of the "St. Michael" effect as well. The guy was a druggie, probably a pedo, certainly a weirdo. No doubt the guy was talented, he produced music that the whole world enjoyed, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a freak. If you or I did some of the stuff he did, we'd be in jail or a psychiatric ward somewhere, but if you have money/fame you get a pass as being "eccentric".

 to Congressman King.

Neither you nor I have the ability to touch the souls of millions. And I mean this via music and not some other twisted facet that someone will surely latch on to here. :p

It is an interesting scenario considering the same media who is propping up MJ have done nothing but tear him down the last 15-20 years.

Here's the thing, we are supposed to have this "innocent until proven guilty" thingy in this country.

Well, guess what? MJ was found innocent! While I have my own thoughts on the subject, for someone holding the position that he does to go on camera and make difinitive statements (not even accusations) like Rep. King did, it was not only blowing directly into the wind of the foundation of our country, it was as stupid as a politician could be.

As for the "free speech" thing, there is no such thing. There is always a cost for what you might say whether it be financial (being sued), emotional (affecting another's feelings) or being held personally responsible (losing your job as Rep. King just might). Just because you have a right to say it, doesn't mean that others don't have a right to be offended by it or see you in the light that you deserve to be seen in.

For the record, MJ was a freak compared to the "average man", likely got away with crimes against children and this fawning over him needs to stop already. But I'd never be stupid enough to say it in front of cameras as a politician that is coming up for reelection. :)

There's never been any evidence that Jacko molested anyone, yet there's been hard evidence against his accusers (that they made up the allegations to get paid). This Congressman is missing brain cells to publicly speak badly about someone who was never convicted of anything, good luck getting re-elected moran.

If he didn't molest anyone, why would he settle for $20 million?

He admitted in a documentary that he shared his bed with his young guests.

And the people arguing against King are exercising their "free speech" thing too. The concept of free speech doesn't mean that you're insulated against criticism toward what you say. This seems to be a common misconception among a lot of people who have controversial views. As soon as people argue against them, they suddenly claim that their speech is being censored. No, it's just being refuted.

Let's refresh your memory:
Evan Chandler [father] was tape-recorded saying amongst other things, "If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever...Michael's career will be over."

MJ clearly settled to get this nutcase off his ass to stop his kid from lying that he was touched by MJ. After they got their money the Chandlers stopped cooperating with police. IF someone touched MY kid's genitals, not only would I be taking them to the bank but there would be a trial to put the fcker away afterward. This was an obvious case of fraud where a scum sucking father heard about the weird sht MJ did like having animals/pets/kids in his bed and taking that to the bank. Any normal father would have killed MJ himself IF the allegations were true, screw the money.

Get it out of his hair. A lot of companies settle with plaintiffs because they feel that the cost of an ongoing lawsuit and potential settlement (and as you know, sometimes plaintiffs win even when in the wrong) are too high. Imagine if somebody doctored an image of you doing the nasty with animals and promised that if you didn't give them $50 they'd pin these pictures all over your office, neighborhood, etc. Perhaps you figure it's worth $50 to just not worry about it.

Mr. King is only saying what many are thinking, and I for one applaud him. Mr. King will still get my vote, as he always does.

Fuck MJ and may he rot in hell.

why? he's a pedophile, haven't you heard?

I just accused him of it right now, so it's got to be 100% true.

I dunno if he was a Paedophile, but he is just another example of why Children shouldn't be thrown into the limelight. He clearly had deep seated psychiatric issues.

I agree. I find it amusing that people/companies seeking to mitigate damages through a public trial are immediately thought of as guilty. It is a simple business decision. If A trial costs me B dollars in court costs, C dollars in lost revenue and bad publicity, and D dollars in mental anguish, time, and problems.

IF a settlement is equal to or less than A+B+C+D, then you do so just to avoid the problems. Businesses practice this type of solution day after day.

Isn't that simple? I guess it's too hard for right-wingers to get.

As far as King's comments. I laugh at people who sit there saying that there is "free speech". It's like they don't even realize that the "free speech" umbrella doesn't protect you from counter "free speech", lawsuits for slander, or even censure if you over-step your bounds. "Free speech" is only a concept of people being able to speak freely without the *GOVERNMENT* preventing them from doing so.
