Talk about CPU temps readings

I'have been reading several topics about CPU temps, and i must say i can´t find a definitve word about what is good and what is just a dream. I can't belive a processor running a 23°-28°, that's impossible to me, a walkman runs hotter than that, so i would like to use that cpu as an A/A in my living room. So men, be honest, what temp are reading??, how is it possible, do this person lives in north pole??.
For those people worried about their temps reading, and have no idea if its the actual reading, o just crap, post it here.

Personally, i'm getting crazy with my mobo SL-K8AN2E-GR, BIOS and SOLTEK HM, on stock cooling, my idle temp is 48° and never reached 51° on load (I think so), yesterday things went crazy, BIOS and HM readings fluctuated from 0 to 240°!!!!, Fan Speeds did the same from 0 to 15000 rpm, I'm overclocking just a 10%, I shutted down inmediatly, later couldn't boot up until cleared CMOS, then things came back to normally. I don't know what could happen, my environmental room temp is not so cold (was about 28°-30°), and i have lots of fans inside my case, since yesterday i removed the side cover of the case and placed a BIG 110v FAN blowing directly into it, payed HL2 about 8 hours and temp never went up 48°.
Any comments/suggestions ¿¿??

Try downloading Motherboard Monitor or Everest and use it to get a temp reading. I think either of those will give you a more accurate reading. I found that they both read consistently 4 degrees C lower than the utitilty that came with the motherboard. I also tried Speedfan. Each of those three utilities gave me the same reading 4C lower than CoreCenter. Therefore, I'm more inclined to believe their results. My CPU runs at 41C idle with a mild overclock . The CPU gets to 53C when running the Prime95 torture test. This is with the stock heatsink/fan.

The lowest I've ever seen my CPU go is 35C. This was at idle with no overclock and with Cool n' Quiet running.

Those temps are in celcius, so the range is 73-82. That is still low for an actual temp, but motherboards can not accurately report temperatures of the cpu, so getting temp readings that low is still normal.

Thanks, I didn't figured out it was in celsius, shame on me, still the point is the same.
I downloaded MBM 5370, but my mobo is not listed in the supported motherboards (SOLTEK SL-K8AN2E-GR)

With Everest and SpeedFan, i get these same readings

IDLE:
Temp1=36c
Temp2=40c

FULL LOAD:
Temp1=39c
Temp2=41c-42c

I supose this is ok for me.

Hmm, just so you know you aren't alone Goyik, my Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra 939 is not supported either. I thought it might be, but after giving it a try I get a 'wacky' case temp of 25 and CPU temp of -6, considering hmonitor tells me I am in the 40's with my CPU I tend to believe hmonitor.

The problem, of course, is hmonitor isn't free. But from a personal perspective, I don't like the look and feel of motherboard monitor, compared to hmonitor.

Temp monitors seem 2 b a total load with my ASUS A7V8X, using the asus probe gives some funny results that are consistently different from those in the BIOS (as close as i can tell-probe gives higher (4-5'C) temp readings 4 cpu than BIOS)

More significantly when i use s2kctl probe goes haywire, reporting temps that drop unrealistically quickly, and far further than is likely- i'm talkin drops of more than 10-15 'C, sometimes even lower than the mobo temps 😛

Hwinfo32 is a good app 4 temps, or at least the best i've found 4 my mobo-& it even gives my WD drive temps which is kinda nifty 🙂
