That seems like a lot of bees. I bet the financial loss for the beekeeper is really going to sting.

Fun fact: one cause of Colony Collapse Disorder is when beekeepers overharvest honey from the hives and replace it with less expensive corn syrup.
Well, I hope an occasional pecan pie won't kill me.

another one is lack of diversity on modern farms. Bees used to visit several different kinds of crops in California, for example. Now the hives are dropped off in the almond trees, and they just go on forever. Same goes for any of the crops, there are huge swaths of the same kind of thing.

I routinely see bee trucks on the highway and always think about how bad it would suck if it crashed.
