ummm no that IS why you laughed. The jokes function was to be funny in equating the country to sh!t.. the 'cleverness of the joke depends on the disdain for an entire nation.


because the subject line was worded to specifically make sure that those who are easily offended know what they're getting into. it's pretty clear that the original poster is not interested in hearing people whine.

How does any of that make it ok to be insulting? Its like saying that it is ok to rape head if you were to say "Dont come into this alley, if you dont like watching someone get raped"

You arent justified in hurting someone simply because you dont like to hear them cry when you hurt them.....

Bin Laden didn't decide to attack America because of our disrespect for that hole-in-the-ground known as afghanistan.
It's more like this:
He doesn't like Western Culture
He doesn't like Western Influence in the Arab World
He doesn't like the fact Saudi Arabia turned to the U.S. for help in the Gulf War
He wants to topple western friendly arab regimes and instill Taliban-esque governments

How do any of these relate to a silly joke? That's right, they don't.


It seems rather obvious that the statement he made, was simply pointing out that ignorant hate tends to lead to violence. I dont believe he was implying a direct causal relationship between this joke and the attack on america.....

you just contradicted yourself. if the joke is funny in it's execution of equating the country to sh!t, then i'm not really laughing because the country is being equated to sh!t. it's really irrelevant what the cleverness of the joke depends on. tough concept, i know.

You are quite mistaken. The joke would have been equally funny worded as follows:

Ok, the way I look at jokes like this is its in people to laugh at the misfortune of others. Wether they feel bad on the inside or not, people laugh at this stuff. Its called having a sense of humor and its pretty much required to get through life sane.


Have you ever laughed when somone fell down? I cant HELP but laugh when people fall. Its the funniest thing on earth to me. I always go help them up, and ask if they are ok, but Im cracking up the whole time. I cant help it. Do I hate them? According to you, I have to hate them, because I laughed cause they fell down.

I dont hate the Afgani people, but if I laugh at this joke, your saying I have to hate them. Like the other guy said, it could be about any country or nationality. You think the British dont tell jokes like this about Americans? You dont think the French tell jokes like this about everyone? Its part of getting through life to laugh at others misfortunes. It makes it easier to laugh at yourself.

For the "whiteboys" here, try repeating one of chris rocks "great person" jokes in public.

Its called hostility, you don't have to show it for one to see it.

Hey guys! Turns out I was just in a bad mood! Sure the joke is a tad tasteless, but hey, who the hell cares? Like Afghans have computers to read it? Ha! Sorry for the excitement. Good arguements, though, all around. Thanks for the support WageSlave.
