The Taliban appealed to the U.S. not to attack Afghanistan because the Afghan people are already in a great deal of misery.

Its cause you dumb bastards rule them! DUH. All the Taliban has to do is hand over bin laden and all his cronies and they won't have to worry.

They already had their chance to hand that murdering f*ck over. We've been asking for him for years and they have continually refused. Now he's laid waste to NY and DC. Time for negotiation is long past. Crush them now.:|

Sucks to be them, after all, like President Bush said, there will be no distinction between terrorists and those who harbor them. The thing is, I'm pretty sure it won't just be the U.S. striking whomever did this cowardly act, it will be the force of all free nations, so expect Britain, blah blah, etc to get in the mix.

Every free nation of the world has offered their support, but in military forces and in rescuingand medical teams...

This time it is not the US against them, it is the FREE WORLD against afghanistan.... who do you think will win?

I say, kill them all!

Remove them from power. They have not cooperated, they are not recognized as a true government, and their excuses as to why Bin Laden didn't do it are, quite simply, lame. They are scared, and rightly so.

As well they should. We don't know yet if this was done by the afghans, but whoever did committed an act of war and should be retaliated against. And all of you who say no, we shouldn't attack their cities because of all the innocent people...what do you think that war is? That's what happens in war, deal with it. We can call these acts of terrorism, but they really are non-traditional war - no country will assemble an army to attack America, so this was the best way to start a war...they'll get what they wanted....

AFAIK the street-dancing was actually Afghanistan - I remember seeing a lady's face. To the best of my knowledge women have to cover up in a big way in afghanistan.

This is true, it is not a recognized government and cannot act as a true one, someone has to do something, not the US alone, the UN would be a better choice...

Their excuses mean nothing, Swedish, German, French, Israelian and American intellegence has shown otherwise, if afghanistan would provide harbour for him, they should realize that they are going to get bombed by the entire FREE WORLD!!! The EU, the US, and every other country that belongs to Nato...

'Afghan people are already in a great deal of misery'

Hey,we can help put them out of their misery. Only we should use those nuclear bombs that only kill people, not destroy buildings. That way we cannot be accused of destroying religious monuments like they do.

What makes you beleive that the Taliban is harboring Bin Laden? Do you forget that it sometimes takes the FBI 20 years to find our own crooks?

The dancing was in Palestine. Some of you guys need to check your facts before your speak.

This arab bashing is getting way out of hand.

They have been harboring him for years. We found that out after the last WTC bombing. The Taliban refused to hand him over.

If you ever saw Woody Allen's film, Bananas, the Taliban reminds me of the actions of the rebel commander, after they took power, and it went to their heads. In the movie, the new "Presidente" issues an order that, henceforth, everyone will wear their underpants on the outside of their clothes so the government could verify that they were wearing clean underwear.

The way the Taliban rules is not even that logical. It would be funny if it weren't so real and so tragic. :(

it can't be just the free world vs. Afghanastan. It's not one country. It's a mind set. It's the free world vs. terrorism. Afghanastan chose to side with the terrorists, so they're getting pulled into it. If anyone else goes along with them, it's their demise as well. Don't just point out the Afghanastani people. We have to deal with all of them.

The problem is going to be defining who exactly the enemy is. In WWII it was much easier defining the enemies, this time its a bit more difficult. To fight a war, the enemy needs to be defined precisely.

Afganastan has been harboring that bastard for years. Even if he didn't do it, he deserves to be slaughtered anyway. US policy for the 21th: Irridicate all terrorists from the world. If if sh*t has to fly, and countries like Afghanastan are turned into parking lots, these punk bastards need to be stopped.
