A month ago, i bought a 9200 128mb Sapphire for an old computer my father has.
A few days past, he attempted to install a memory stick and managed to insert the damn thing reversed, frying the motherboard in the process.
I decided to take out the video card to use it for another computer, but apparently something must have damaged the board because everytime i play a game the computer either locks, the screen dies or sometimes it just goes nuts.
I assumed it was a driver problem, but when i tried the card to yet another computer, same problems again.
I just learned that he replaced the powersupply and that the motherboard is booting up again (the horror), but his CD-ROM doesn't work.
I checked this CD-ROM on my PC and it works fine, i'm thinking the motherboard just damaged his whole machine and that i should put a stop to his computing adventures once and for all.
Ho, it gets better.
I then took a twin 9200 from yet another machine, and when i pulled out the damn thing one of those little cylinders just came off. I don't recall even touching it, but there it was, nasty little champ rolling on the palm of my hand as i stared in disbeleif.
Of course, the card was not even mine and i might even have to pay for it.
Now i'm off prying on the remains of my father system, checking his hard drive, memory of whatever else that might still function, but that propably won't.
