A7N8X deluxe rev 1.04 users i need your help and advice.

I took a gamble and ordered an xp2500 barton from newegg for my 1.04 a7n8x if its locked im gonna need to get that FSB higher.

My ram is corsair xms 3200 v1.2

the board itself has been able to achieve 185mhz but i need more will upgrading the northbridge Heatsink give me at least a 5mhz boost in fsb? or is it pointless and the 1.04s cant do it...

I would suggest trying bios 1004 or 1006, but not 1007. 1004 and 1006 were the best bioses for overclocking. Personally, I found 1006 works best for me. I'm at 200FSB with my 1.04 boards right now, but 210 isn't stable. Good luck. Peace.

Depends on the temperature, when I was overclocking my pc a couple of days ago, with a bios version from january of this year,( - every time i tried to update bios it said there was no new bios - now i have 1.07.), i got it to 200 fsb, although it only showed 199 and I couldnt get the 2700 too far from stock about 100MHz only. My Mobo tem barely got to 100 and my cpu tem barely got to 120 ,F that is. So I dont' think its the temp.

I got my barton and it is indeed locked zea0341

ive got my fsb at 186mhz right now 7-3-3 casl2 i booted at 200mhz but locked up after a few minutes i didnt relax the timings though so mabey i can keep it at 200 but use 8-3-3 2.5 with a 2.7voltage
