Taking panel off laptop?

I was just wondering, I have a vent panel underneath my laptop that kinda of restricts air from the lapcooler i got, and I was wondering if I took off the panel if it would be ok like that? I won't be moving the laptop any so I don't think it should be a problem, just wanted to know what you people thought. Thanks.

Well, there is really no way that harm can happen to it, I mean, the only thing is dust and that's getting picked up and blown through there anyway, it's off my desk a little, I see no problem with it, can I get some other thoughts and opinions?

Anyone?
Not certain if you can expect many users to offer advice without additional information, namely the make and model of machine, and which specific panel you plan on removing.

i don't know about that... laptops are built w/ air flow in mind. when making a big opening there is less airflow through the computer (or at least it throws it off). So well if it's not overheating I would just leave it as is.
