Taking GRE tomorrow, haven't really prepared. Am I screwed?

If you finished your bachelors degree and did pretty well at it, you should not have much trouble with the GRE. I have not taken it personally, I graduated high school in the late 80's and finally started school this semester. I have taken the practice GRE that my best friend has and I crushed it.

I think good referrals and recommendations from your professors would also be highly advantageous also.

get to know the format so you don't have to spend any time reading the instruction what to do with each section.

I got back from the test.

My results:
quantitative 780
verbal 530

There was a lot of vocabulary in the verbal that I simply didn't know. Time wasn't a problem.

is that good? 780 out of what? is that like 50% or 90%

Out of 800. The 780 is good.

yeah, that's a very good score. 530 could be improved easily for verbal, but it only really matters if you're going somewhere that isn't engineering or science. These programs only glance at the score to make sure you aren't some incompetent moron--same with the essay.
