Taking desktop on flight or checking in?

Hey guys. I'm going to be flying out of state for school in a month or so. What do you guys think about either packing my desktop computer in the checked in bag or on the carry on?

Oh wait, have you seen how ups/fedex guys toss your package ? same thing.. just pack some heavy duty foam on check in luggage or shipment

Just strap it all to your body, you should make it through the security check points with no issues.

Take some parts out like hard drives, RAM, maybe optical drive and video card and put it in your carry-on luggage. Ship the case with the motherboard and PSU. That's how I would do it.
