MTV Link - You might be able to stream some music, they had the full album streaming a couple days ago, before its release, maybe you can find it again.

I've been a big fan of them for a while, a bit over a year ago. I saw them in concert a while back, heres my Ticket Autographed, and I went to an autograph signing today. Was just curious if anyone else is into them...

Keep in mind, all the pictures I've taken was with my Camera Phone, all pretty crappy pics.

Here they are, playing - I'm kinda far back, best picture I could get. Then they started the...
Autographs! - Yeah, a very blurry picture. They didn't want pictures, so I had to keep it covert.
Woohoo! - They were only supposed to sign 1 thing, but they offered to sign both! I'm missing one signature on Tell All Your Friends though. I then went up stairs, they were still...
Signing - Nice guys...

Here they are playing at Warped Tour at Orlando Florida. I didn't attend (too hot outside! I went last year), but my friend did, and there are some pictures..

yeah, i saw them like 3 years ago or something when i was all into them. i sang into the mic a couple times when adam was holding it down, it was a good show. they were a lot of fun, but from a technical standpoint they are flat out the worst live band i've ever seen. honestly, the crowd were the ones performing the song, and the band just served as dancing cheerleaders making random background noise.

but after seeing the videos and seeing the people who are getting into them now, the whole thing strikes me as something that was sincere when it started but isn't anymore. now it's just about the "scene." not to mention that the album got old really fast. i mean it was barely 30 minutes long, for one thing, and once you got over the "you could slit my throat" line, you realized there wasn't a lot of substance lyrically... it's all really immature. there's no point in whining if you can't also be introspective and take a look at yourself and learn something from it. that's why i think cursive is the best band in the genre. they're not about pouting and posing, they're about personal growth.

i don't care for the new guistarist/singer either. the old guy was my favorite part about the band; he was passionate and always sounded like he was about to topple over the edge. the new guy sounds kinda fakey to me. the new single is a step backward from a songwriting perspective IMO. it's too long for the amount of material and the chorus sounds too much like brand new. the end climax is cool but they take too long to get there.

basically i think they are a band with a lot of potential that is so far left unrealized. same with thursday, same with sparta. promising albums followed by duds.

i took in my change jar on tuesday and bought the new album, great stuff. its a different sound from the first album(but thats what happens when half the band leaves)

adams voice is WAY better then the original singers voice, the original guy was just flat out... flat, nothing to his voice really, all iv heard were the demo's of the 'old' taking back sunday, still good stuff. if you think their whiney whatever you do dont listen to new found glory or yellowcard(god they suck). the only original members are like the dummer and the fat guy so of course the sounds changing. straylightrun took away most of the musical talent(if you liked the first guys voice check them out)

i think the first album is classic and that it didnt 'get old really fast' and certainly isnt boring. but i think its something that could stay on repeat all day. johns composition and adams voice isnt gonna ever come around again, might as well enjoy it while it lasts. lyrically i think there is substance imho, in both albums.

the scene kids are bring the whole thing down from the inside. as for one band being better then another.. well, thats not what musics about nor what topic the album addresses.

Althought I don't listen to TBS (I never realized that was the same as the TV station... anyways), I listen to a lot of the same type of music. People say this kind of stuff a lot of the time. I don't find the subject of a lot of other music genres that much more enticing and wonder why people tend to only whine about emo.

i think they are pretty good. i played the heck out of the old album for the first year and stopped listening to it for a while, then started up again after this new album came out. the first album was very catchy and had some strong musical parts but the new album is different. i still think its pretty good though.

my new album that i really enjoy is My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. check em out if you enjoy TBS at all.

Ah! You were also at Central Florida Fairgrounds! If you check out the last link in my thread, with the pictures, you'll see my friend's pictures who also went. I wanted to go, but didn't. But I did get to see them at the Virgin Megastore signing at Pleasure Island.

Adam (lead singer), the fat guy, and the drummer are the only original members still in. They got a new guitarist and a backup singer.

Straylight Run is okay, I liked the song "Mistakes we knew we were making".

im suprised this thread got bumped.

so far i think straylight run only has demos out so i cant wait for them to get some studio stuff going.

im not big on straylight run. listened to a couple of their demos, not so good. Glendora should be a hot new band to look out for. members of The June Spirit, most notable the lead singer, make up glendora

Taking Back Sunday rocks the top 10 and sets a new Nielsen SoundScan record for the Victory label, bowing at No. 3 with 163,500 sold.

Ugh, they lost out to Ashlee Simpson and NOW16 :(

Brand New hates TBS with a passion.

Have you ever seen any of there shows? It like they do tricks with the mic in the middle of a concert, I think its pretty neat. I really enjoyed that.

Brand New is pretty good, but I always thought they were buddies? They were on tour together a while back, and I do remember Adam saying something in the middle of a show about Brand New coming into concert the next day, and to go check them out.

Yep, I was there and got nailed in the back by a crowdsurfer's head. :)

I saw your friend has pics of avenged sevenfold. I had never heard of them before, but I was really impressed. They've got a weird sort of hybrid of metal, emo, and goth.

I had a good time, but unfortunately I had to leave early and missed coheed&cambria and Bad Religion two bands i really wanted to see.

They're going to be big, I know they are. They were "Buzzworthy" on MTV, they were on MTV.com's front page for a while. They had the whole album on "The Leak" on MTVs site, they were played on the radio, and they were announced as one of the headlining bands of Warped Tour. They have also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Show, LoveLine, and they were also on a local radio show called "The Rubber Room", which interviews up and coming bands.

I've seen alot of people wearing there shirts lately.

They're going to be big soon, I knew it would happen.

Haha, yeah, stuff like that happenes at huge/big venues, espically for such a popular band. You're bound to get kicked, pushed, and hit in the middle of a crowd. You really have to watch yourself sometimes.

Avenged Sevenfold is really skilled, I love the guitarist "solos". They're on a few of the Warped Tour Compliation CDs. I don't know much from them though.

I saw Coheed and Cambria at a Thursday/Thrice show, I'm not really a big fan of them, but they put on a good show for there fans. People who like them, seem to love them.

Were there any other bands/performances worthy of mentioning? I went last year, but didn't go this year.

Brand New - Seventy Times Seven (actually one of my favorite songs by them even though the beginning is kinda tenny bopper lyrically i think it's very well written)

Taking Back Sunday - Theres No I In Team

i think the story is, John Nolan, former guitarist of TBS slept with the girlfriend Jesse lead singer of Brand New. Therefore the two songs were made. Then Adam cheated on John Nolan's sister I BELIEVE, thats why John left, therefore the shirts were spawned because Jesse and John are good friends again.

Thanks for letting me know the story! I actually love both of those songs by both bands.

John Nolan's sister is pretty hot from what I've seen (she is a member of Straylight Run). Thats weird how someone can sleep with someone's girlfriend and become good friends again.

Though, I wonder why Adam mentioned Brand New when I saw them in concert (November 2003), saying they were good friends and such, if in fact, they do dislike each other.

TBS was playing, and the next day, Brand New was playing on there own tour. Adam said something along the lines of "Tomorrow stop by and see our good friends Brand New, they'll be playing here tomorrow, blah blah blah".

I remember that for a fact, because I remember mentioning it to my friend (that took the pictures at warped tour, in the original post) whom missed TBS, went to the Brand New concert.
