Taking a part LCD Monitor.

No Response after 24 hours in GH. Trying my luck here.

The Monitor does not switch On.

It might be a burned fuse, but I can not find away to open the back cover without Brutal Prying.

are you sure you even want to try to do this? isn't it extremely dangerous since the tube/capacitors carries a high voltage? i'd just be very careful jack 🙂

i wish i could help you out.

good luck!

Thank for the warning.

When I started my carrier in Electronic Engineering my first Project was to redesign an old 2KW Control Tower HF Transmitter.

It was working with 1200 Volts at the Output Amplifier.

Guess what? With my luck while kneeling to check the unit I ended closing the circuit between my right hand and my right Knee (if it was the left side I probably would not be here).

Since then I am very careful handling anything above 12 Volts.

In any case I am starting to give up on the idea, cause if it is any thing but a fuse, buying parts would as expensive as getting a new Monitor.

"tube/capacitors "
Is there any kind of a tube in a LCD monitor? I thought being LCD there were no large capacitors or high voltage.

LCD Common Problems Possible Cause
Blanks out, Dark Display Defective Inverter , Lamp, Controller board
Flickers / Lines on screen Controller board, LCD panel, Power supply
Dead Power supply, Controller power circuit
Dim / Darker than normal Weak lamp
Display blinking Power supply /inverter board

If the screen was going black instead of white it would most likely be the Backlight power supply,,,,the most common failure mode for LCD monitors.

But a completely White screen means the backlight is OK and the circuitry that drives the digital matrix is failing.
