Visited the doctor today.. and am starting HRT. This concept of menopause as a "natural process"is all well and good but after 15 months of misery I can't take it anymore,I'm sick of soy products,I hate beans and I hate producing enough natural gas to heat an office building,I'm sick of night sweats, hot flashes and insominia!! estrogen replacement here I come!

It was HRT or going out and buying an automatic weapon🙂

I'm not a fan...

There are some newer studies out,the women in that first, famous study were on average quite a bit older. Women in my age range, newly menopausal and at risk for bone loss who are suffering significant other symptoms stand to benefit from HRT.

I struggled going the natural route for quite some time,I need some relief from the constant hot flashes, night sweats and sleep disruption.

I'm already catching some flack from the au natural crowd on this issue. I've been coping with perimenopause/menopause issues for over 3 yrs now.I didn't run at the first hot flash to get pills. I counted my hot flashes for a few days. I had 15 in one day,not counting the 2-3 night sweats that waken me each and every night.

I don't begrudge other women their right to decide on this issue, why is it wrong to say that things like soy and black cohosh aren't working for me?

Have you thought about a blood test to get your thyroid checked ? Just a wild thought.

"They" also tell me staying active helps. Gym, sports, jog, walk..whatever.
